We wish to appoint a motivated, committed and enthusiastic member of our Inclusion team, to ensure the right support at the right time is available to all our students. Your primary responsibility will be to triage, document and respond to concerns regarding the safeguarding, welfare and wellbeing of our students. You will work within a team of experienced and committed professionals including our Assistant Principal; Personal Development, Attendance, The Hub, our Learning Support provision and our Heads of House and their assistants. You will receive support and supervision from an experienced Vice Principal and Designated Safeguarding Lead.

The role will involve effective engagement with external services when required, in order to ensure that our most vulnerable students are safe and have their needs met. You will lead on the implementation of policies, procedures and training around safeguarding under the supervision of the Vice Principal (DSL).

We are committed to the continuing professional development of our staff and so the opportunity to work towards additional training and qualifications in safeguarding, mental health first aid or supporting with attendance would be available. This is alongside a comprehensive induction around Wellacre’s policies and practices.
Wellacre Academy is an 11-16 all boys’ school set in the heart of Trafford. We have high expectations for all our students and our policies and practices are values driven. Alongside our lessons, we provide a rich and diverse co-curricular programme that develops character and inspires our students. Our Support Staff are encouraged to contribute to co-curricular provision. We all work together to instill a strong sense of belonging for all, which enables students to succeed and become active members of the community as they move into adulthood.
We are committed to the professional development of all our staff. The TDT Gold Award report (July 2021) said, ‘All staff feel supported to grow and develop in their careers, which is testament to the way in which leaders are continually seeking out new challenges and responsibilities for individual members of staff based on their strengths and needs.’
We are keen to ensure that you have as much information as possible to proceed with your application, therefore, if you would like a conversation about life at Wellacre, or the position advertised, please contact Mr Phil Pemberton by email: ppembert@wellacre.org who will be happy to assist and answer any questions you may have.
