Safeguarding Lead – BMS World Mission

Are you an expert in safeguarding and passionate about mission? Do you have the highest level of integrity and commitment to high standards of excellence? Are you organised and a people person? Are you warm, compassionate and a good listener? This might be the role for you! We’re looking for an individual who will lead on Safeguarding for BMS. You will contribute to achieving our goal to ensure that we create safe environments and provide holistic support, seeking to protect the interests of BMS, our people and those that come into contact with us.

The role is involved in these key areas:

• Safeguarding within BMS
• Supporting Partners in Safeguarding issues

We are looking for an individual with a desire to ensure that BMS and its global partners have safe, robust policies, practices and procedures to protect those who come into contact with BMS in any way.

You will be experienced at safeguarding in international contexts and at reporting to governance bodies, such as Directors and Trustees. You will have excellent organisational skills and you always work with high degrees of confidentiality and sensitivity. You will be computer literate with the MS Office suite of software and have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to all age groups and cross-culturally.

The successful applicant will be a committed Christian. The nature of this role means that this is a specific occupational requirement.
