Job Description

About The Role

This role is Part Time (21 hours)

St John Ambulance is a charity with over 18,000 volunteers and 1,600 employees. Many of these employees and volunteers work in regulated roles and have regular contact with young or vulnerable people, as such safeguarding our people and the community are incredibly important to us.

As a Safeguarding Coordinator at St John Ambulance, you will manage the day to day safeguarding casework for St John Ambulance by reviewing Causes for Concern (CFC’s) and Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) referrals with Safeguarding team members and external authorities, advising management on appropriate courses of action and deputising for the Safeguarding Manager as needed.

You will be responsible for working directly with the National Safeguarding Officer to process adverse DBS applications and discuss risk assessments prior to recommending that applicants are approved or declined and deciding when to escalate referrals that may require urgent action by identifying the signs of abuse.
