Location: This is a hybrid role involving a mixture of travelling to client sites, working from home, and working in the London office
Please note: This role will involve some travel, conducting visits around the country as and when required. Therefore, having a driving licence is essential.
Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join Judicium Education and play a key role in delivering our growing safeguarding service in education. The service offers safeguarding support to schools through expert audits, advice, and training.
As a Safeguarding Consultant, you will audit organisations to ensure they meet the national and statutory safeguarding requirements and support them to ensure compliance by recommending procedures and processes they should implement.
As a Safeguarding Consultant, you will provide solutions to client queries, deliver quality training, draft policies, and continually develop and research your own knowledge of safeguarding.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Conducting safeguarding audits in schools, analysing findings, and giving feedback
- Drafting audit reports evaluating safeguarding practice well as making recommendations to meet compliance and develop best practice
- Proactively working closely with clients to support them to develop their policies and procedures
- Drafting and updating policies and other relevant documentation
- Designing and delivering safeguarding training to schools
- Where required, conducting research, and providing guidance and recommendations to clients
- Offering advice and support on appropriate practice and procedures
- Responding to client enquiries in a timely fashion
- Conducting safeguarding investigations
- Improving safeguarding practice within our client schools
The successful candidate will have the following:
Essential:
- A relevant professional qualification
- An understanding of the relevant legal and regulatory framework
- Experience of safeguarding within education or with one of the Safeguarding Partners
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Ability to deliver effective feedback
- Ability to self-manage and prioritise
- Driving licence- candidates must be prepared to travel extensively, often at short notice to services nationwide.
Desirable
- Understanding of safeguarding in schools and the extent of its remit
- Expertise or qualifications in audit, inspection and/or investigation practice
- Experience of writing clear and compliant policies
