Location: Hybrid – home working / 2 days office based at: British Taekwondo Head Office, Manchester Regional Arena, Etihad Campus, Rowsley Street, Manchester M11 3FF.

Salary: Commensurate with experience – circa £33K – £39K.

Hours of work: 37.5 per week.

Start date: February 2023 or soonest

Job Purpose and Main Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for: Acting as the designated person within our organisation with primary responsibility for handling and reporting concerns about children. Putting into place policies and procedures to safeguard children across the organisation and membership, including supporting club and event welfare officers. Including:

• Playing a lead role in developing and establishing the organisation’s approach and implementation plan to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.

• Managing cases of poor practice and abuse reported to the organization.

• Managing referrals to social-care services, police, and Local Authority Designated Officers.

• Acting as the central point of contact for internal and external individuals and agencies.

• Representing the organisation at external meetings related to safeguarding.

• Representing the organisation at any convened panels and presenting cases.

• Coordinating the dissemination of policy, procedure, and resource throughout the organization.

• Providing advice and support to club and event welfare officers.

• Developing and implementing the organisation and its members training needs.

• Ensuring safeguarding standards are met and maintained.

• Keeping own knowledge and skills up to date. Acting as the designated person within our organisation with primary responsibility for handling, investigating and administrating complaints and grievance. Including:

• Playing a lead role in drafting and updating relevant policies for clubs and members, including the communication and training on such policies.

• Implementing procedures for dealing with complaints and grievances.

• Managing, investigating, and administrating cases as necessary.

• Managing referrals to internal disciplinary panels and external local authority bodies.

• Representing the organisation at any convened panels and presenting cases.

• Providing advice and support to club and event welfare officers.

• Ensuring Code of Conduct standards are met and maintained. Acting as the designated person within our organisation with primary responsibility for running our on-line HR system. Including:

• Holiday request monitoring to ensure office and departments covered.

• Implementing HR Policies through staff training.

• Office rota setting to prevent lone working.

• Supporting the PDR system.

• Monitoring staff absence.

• Implement the People Plan.

• Monitoring office health & safety and updating risk assessments.
