The Role:
As a Business Support Officer for Safeguarding Adults, you will report to the Assistant Director for Safeguarding Adults and Children.
Your role will help to support ensuring that effective safeguarding arrangements are in place for organisations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the smooth organisational running of the division, providing administrative support
  • Assiting the team to ensure appropriate and effective delivery of Safeguarding is delivered and maintained
  • Ensuring safeguarding information is processed and circulated to the teams as appropriate
  • Maintaining the safeguarding database and keeping it up to date
  • Providing day to day administrative support for the Safeguarding Adults team, attending meetings, taking minutes, typing correspondences/letters and sending them out
  • Acting as the point of contact for telephone calls
  • Maintaining confidential electronic filing systems and ensuring availability of relevant documents within the office
  • Advising the Safeguarding team of any concerns relating to information alerting them of pending deadlines
  • Ensuring all correspondence internally and externally is completed
  • Maintaining a system for the effective communication of information
  • Working closely with the Senior Administrator Safeguarding and to provide reciprocal cover for each other for planned and unplanned leave

As part of your mandatory training, you will be required to complete Safeguarding Children – Level 1, and Safeguarding Adults – Level 1.

About You:

  • High standard of general education and relevant experience or graduate level
  • An understanding of health services, local authority, voluntary and community sectors
  • Relevant experience, including close contact and close working with members of the public
  • Experience of providing support and being involved in specific projects
  • Working with Microsoft applications
  • Skilled in completing dedicated projects to tight deadlines, organisational abilities and Effective Minute Taking
  • You can demonstrate autonomy, such as working on your own initiative, within a team, managing your workload, and acting independently to meet deadlines
  • You can work on your own initiative and be confident in working with the team
  • You understand importance of maintaining confidentiality and trust
  • You have a professional and calm manner, able to adapt to uncertainty and change
