About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our busy frontline team providing essential, high-profile services to our students. You will lead the development, management and delivery of our strategic policies and procedures relating to safeguarding and inclusion. You will also use initiative to develop and lead projects with strategic impact. This includes responsibility for ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, quality standards and embedding best practice in order to underpin outstanding service delivery for student support, safety and wellbeing.

Within this role you will be required to maintain, build and manage relationships with different areas across the University, such as Accommodation, Security, Communications Team and Students’ Union, as well as external organisations like the Leicester Partnership Trust and local universities. You will also be required to represent the University at external events such as relevant safeguarding networks, conferences and meetings.

About you

As the ideal candidate, you will be educated to degree level, and have substantial experience in similar or related roles. You will have demonstrable working knowledge of mental wellbeing and safeguarding in Higher Education. You will also have experience of developing and implementing strategic documents and training. Your knowledge of risk and risk management (safeguarding, safety and wellbeing), and of case management and engagement with key safeguarding agencies, will be significant.
