The successful applicant will be joining an established and vibrant safeguarding adult team.  The role will involve both single and inter agency working.  This will include seeking assurance that statutory safeguarding responsibilities are being met across the NHS.  It will also necessitate a degree of partnership collaboration across the key stakeholders.

 

Main duties of the job

 

We are seeking a self motivated, energetic and committed individual to help consolidate and drive the safeguarding adult agenda across both Derby City and Derbyshire.  The successful candidate will have had experience of training delivery, course development and evaluation.  They should also be able to form positive professional relationships across the safeguarding adult community.  Good written and verbal communication are both essential requirements of this role.

The successful candidate will be a member of a small but highly professional and dedicated team.  They will work in a friendly and supportive environment and have ample opportunity for professional development.  The work is varied and can be demanding, an understanding of safeguarding issues would therefore be advantageous.  There is a strong requirement that anyone representing the safeguarding adult team will share their commitment to the protection of all adults at risk from abusive behaviour and practice.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

As detailed previously the successful applicant will require the skills needed to influence and shape local safeguarding arrangements across a wide variety of partners and stakeholders.  This to include the development and delivery of policy and practice guidance, staff training programmes and quality assurance frameworks.  Excellent verbal and written communication  is essential.  The successful candidate will also attend a wide and diverse range of meetings on behalf of the safeguarding adult team and the broader CCG.  Self motivation, time management and meeting deadlines are critical components of this work.   A flexible approach and problem solving are also required skills.

  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in a specialist area
