Circa £35,000 per annum plus an on-call allowance

Permanent, full-time (working 37 hours a week) – hours are generally Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm but may involve occasional evening or weekend work

The role

The Action for Children Dundee services are looking for a Registered Manager to become part of the Dundee Cluster Management team. As part of the wider Action for Children organisation, the Dundee cluster deliver a diverse range of services across Dundee and Tayside. Specifically, we are looking for a Registered Manager to deliver our individualised support service.

 

Dundee Youth Housing Service provide a diverse range of prevention and support services to young homeless people in the Dundee area. The mainstay of the service is to provide supported accommodation and outreach support for 16- to 21-year-olds who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.

 

You will make a difference by:

– Managing the service on a day-to-day basis.

– Being responsible for all aspects of the service, including budgets, to ensure the team provide innovative, responsive, high quality and person-centered services.

– Providing regular supervision and performance reviews to create a workforce that is motivated, skilled and qualified.

– Establishing and developing effective relationships and channels of communication with colleagues, community organisations, partner agencies and other external agencies, including chairing and leading multiagency meetings as appropriate.

 

You will need:

– An SVQ 4 in Health and Social Care and a willingness to work towards a Leadership qualification if not already held. (A relevant management qualification for social care will put you at an advantage, however we absolutely welcome candidates to apply who do not possess a management qualification but are willing to study for one.)

– Experience of working in a child-based environment, in similar support packages.

– Experience in Management of a large team working towards an outcome.

– Experience of supporting children and young people with additional needs and or disabilities.

– Experience in supporting staff through reflective supervision practices.

– An understanding of the core needs of a child and how the work that we provide can cater towards this.

– The ability to communicate effectively and clearly with all stakeholders with the service.
