We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 8A Quality and Safeguarding Manager to join our nationally award winning team. Devon Partnership NHS Trust is the Lead Provider for the South West Provider Collaborative. We commission services for people requiring medium and low secure mental health care across the south west in partnership with eight providers – five of which are NHS organisations, one community interest company, and two independent sector providers. Our geography spans from Cornwall in the South to Gloucestershire in the North, covering a total population of around five million, across approximately 20,000 square kilometres.

We aim to treat people as close to home as possible; in the least level of security, for the shortest period of time, to high quality outcomes. We are shortly to expand our responsibilities to include CAMHS Tier 4 and Adult Eating Disorder inpatient services.

About you

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, skilled and knowledgeable practitioner to undertake a leadership role within the commissioning division. The post requires a clinical background with evidence of strong leadership, change management, strong interpersonal & communication skills.

The post is responsible for ensuring that commissioned services are safe, clinically appropriate and are of a high standard. You will contribute to the development of best practice standards in the protection and empowerment of patients, particularly in the areas of assessment, service provision, inspection, registration, accreditation and training across all areas of the South West Provider Collaborative.

You will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and clinical staff across the South West Provider Collaborative geography.

You will be self- motivated with high personal & professional standards, values & behaviours, with the ability to work independently & collaboratively and to deliver on deadlines.

The location

Your base will be Langdon Hospital, Dawlish, however under the current COVID-19 conditions this may be subject to alternative arrangements/change for example home working. As a new member of staff to Devon Partnership NHS Trust you will be required to attend a full induction programme at the beginning of your employment. The content and length of this programme will depend on your new job role and where you will be working. This can be between one day for non-clinical staff and up to 10 days for inpatient clinical staff.
