Who are we?
We were established in 2014 when we became independent from Knowsley Brough Council (KMBC). KMBC are still our largest funder and partner for some of our most successful programmes such as MeTime and Step Forward. However, we have the drive and ambition to expand outside of Knowsley, taking our fantastic work and passionate team to young people across the North West.
What do we do?
At Vibe, we work together, with young people, with our youth team. We run inspiring and inclusive clubs, activities, and programmes that help young people to build positive relationships with themselves and others, helping them to make a positive contribution to their community.
We’re recruiting for talented and passionate Youth Workers to join our team.
Job Title: Project Coordinator / Youth Worker
Type: Part Time hours – Perm / Fixed Term Contract
Young People are at the heart of all we do, whether they access our targeted youth work or our open access Youth Club’s, Vibe strive to provide the best service to our young people. This role will be based across Vibe’s services and programs providing coordination, delivery and support across various services, youth clubs, activities and outreach/detached work across Merseyside.
The youth work project coordinator will be required to work with a caseload of young people, responsible for delivery and evaluation of our quality programmes that provide personal and social development opportunities for young people.
The project coordinator will need to liaise effectively with other parties whilst working with a variety of services and programs of youth service provision, targeted services and partners where appropriate e.g., schools, colleges, YOS. The individual is required to be outcome focused, ensuring that monitoring and assessments demonstrate the outcomes that the young person and their family strive to achieve.
Experience and Person Spec
The individual will have working knowledge and understanding of the ethics and principles of youth work, including strategies that encourage and promote the empowerment and participation of young people. The individual will have a strong commitment to young people and a thorough knowledge of the issues they face. You will gain an in depth understanding of our fantastic Theory of Change which supports young people to develop positive relationships.
Ideally educated to NVQ Level 2 or above qualification in Youth or Community work (or equivalent) in similar field or substantial experience. Previous experience of Detached or Outreach work would be beneficial.
You should have previous experience of working with children, young people and their families and ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working directly with young people. Awareness of safeguarding; health and safety and data protection practices, good computer skills, knowledge of MS Office, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable: Experience working with young people on a one to one who are NEET, Children Looked After and delivery of programmes working with young people with SEND.

What’s on offer?
£19,000 – £26,000 DOE (pro rata)
Mon-Fri, part time hours, 1 day shift & 4 evening shifts 5-9pm.
Throughout Merseyside so ideally you will be a driver with access to a vehicle.
