Job Description

Take a step into East Sussex Social Work

We are currently looking to recruit an Operations Manager to join our high performing Children Services Department and manage our Countywide Youth Support Service. This vacancy has arisen following reorganisation within the Locality Management Team and a recognition that dedicated management capacity is needed to help ensure that our offer to adolescents with complex needs is well resourced.

You will be joining a strong service, with experienced managers, at an exciting time for the social work profession and multi-agency working.

We are looking for a highly motivated social work professional who understands how to improve outcomes for children and who has a proven track record in statutory Children Services. The successful candidate will be an experienced front line manager or equivalent who will have strong management and leadership skills to provide excellent services that improve outcomes for our children and young people. You will be confident in contributing to service development in line with current national and regional trends and you will be joining a management team that will be looking at how to respond positively to recent developments such as the National Social Work Review.

Your practice must be evidence based and you will be confident in working in a multi-agency manner with key partners. As part of the role, you will have a strategic lead, key areas such as missing children and you will lead on developing relationships with key partners including CAMHS. You will be confident about managing risks to children and young people in the community whilst also being able to identify when care plans for children need to be reviewed so that they can remain safe and fulfil their full potential. You will receive individualised support through a range of training and development opportunities to enable you to succeed in this role and to develop your career.

We warmly welcome applications from all sections of the community but particularly encourage those from Black and ethnic minority backgrounds, those who are disabled, male and those who identify as trans.
