Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Social Worker to join the LADO and Safeguarding in Education Team. This small and high-performing team delivers our statutory Local Authority Designated Officer functions in line with Working Together whilst also providing safeguarding advice, guidance and support service to our education partners on a traded basis. You will be an experienced and skilled social work manager with a track record of managing safeguarding services for children with exceptional risk management skills.

Your approach to leadership will support your team to give of their best and embrace our ethos that it is relationships (with each other, with our residents, and with our partners) that make the difference in helping our residents to be safe, well, resilient and independent A key element of this role is to contribute to the continued development of the Safeguarding in Education Traded Service.

This role will develop and deliver safeguarding training, raise awareness and address issues related to the management of allegations, child protection and safeguarding within schools, colleges, other education environments and settings such as childcare, voluntary and faith.

This role will ensure that the Council meets its statutory requirements of the Designated Officer for the Local Authority, where you will provide investigations oversight and management of allegations against staff and volunteers who work with children.
