Prospectus is proud to be partnering our client, a multi award-winning charity with over 20 years’ experience of delivering pioneering youth work in hospitals and other health settings. our client’s works across 13 hospitals in London, Nottinghamshire, and Birmingham with 11–25-year-olds who are affected by grooming, sexual and criminal exploitation, violence, emotional and physical harm, mental health issues, domestic violence, and modern slavery. They also support children and young people in the online space to reduce the impacts of violence, and with those experiencing a range of health conditions, who are vulnerable and in need. At an exciting time for the charity, they are now seeking an Interim Head of Services to join their team, initially for 4-6 months.

As Head of Services, you will be responsible for service delivery and performance, driving an inclusive and supportive culture within the charity and will lead on the day-to-day delivery of our client’s portfolio of services, ensuring that the needs of young people, staff, partners, communities, funders, and evaluators are fully considered and that our client is well placed to achieve its vision. Duties will include, acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for our client, Line managing other manager roles within the services directorate and providing day to day thorough support, advice, and direction in what can be a challenging working environment. You will also contribute to strategic development activities internally and externally, be accountable for oversight of risk management, and lead recruitment and staff performance for those engaged in service delivery.

To be considered, you will have significant experience as a senior leader who has contributed to a successful leadership team and experience of managing and developing a service, and its processes, procedures, and policies. You will have excellent knowledge of statutory and voluntary sector and services for vulnerable young people, understanding of the physical, social, and emotional developmental needs of young people and have considerable knowledge of child protection and safeguarding issues and of current best practice within the youth work sector. Finally you will have the ability to resolve complex issues and manage change positively, also possessing excellent leadership and people management skills.

Please note this role is full time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday and you will occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings. You will also be required to travel across London, Nottingham and Birmingham, as well as to their London head office and working from home if desired.
