Main duties of the job

To support the Safeguarding and Children in Care Public Health Nurse in the delivery of the commissioned 6-19 model for Safeguarding and Children in Care. To be professionally accountable and responsible and adhere to and apply the Trust standards. Making Every Contact Count to enable the opportunistic delivery of consistent and concise healthy lifestyle information.

Safeguard and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk of harm by working to relevant safeguarding legislation, multi-agency policies and procedures and work within local Safeguarding Children Partnership Multi Agency Child Protection Procedures.

Job responsibilities

  • Safeguard and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk of harm by working to relevant safeguarding legislation, multi-agency policies and procedures and work within local Safeguarding Children Partnership Multi Agency Child Protection Procedures.
  • Apply the principles of the Solihull approach in all work undertaken with children, young people and families.
  • Apply the Best Start in Life principles where applicable.
  • The post holder will ensure inter-agency/ professional partnership working between services, statutory and voluntary organisations to facilitate integrated approaches in meeting the needs of children.
  • Implement planned programmes of care following assessment by Band 5&6 practitioners.
  • Working in partnership with parents, carers and partner agencies in a variety of settings to help them create an environment where children and young people can develop and learn.
  • Work in partnership with children, young people, parents and carers to build on their skills so wellbeing, resilience and life opportunities are promoted.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with and supporting parents and families.

Skills

  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 Qualification or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Childcare qualification.
