Full time, would suit teaching or non-teaching safeguarding professionals 

Pay range L4 – L14 (£56,085 – £69,420) depending on experience and with further opportunities to progress in September 2024)

We are looking for an experienced safeguarding professional to join our Safeguarding Team in the role of Deputy DSL in September 2023 and to find out how we do things at Graveney from the DSL, who will be moving into a different role in September 2024. From 2024, you will take over the full lead DSL role as part of our Extended Senior Leadership Team.

The role will involve an initial year of supporting the DSL and then leading the school’s Safeguarding, Mental Health and Attendance provision the following year. You will need to have a strong background in safeguarding as well as experience of leading teams of staff working across a range of disciplines, including child protection, attendance, counselling services and staff and student welfare. This role is a unique and invaluable opportunity to gain an insight into the school’s current processes and procedures, with time to fully embed into the Graveney School community before taking over as DSL in September 2024.

Our recent Ofsted inspection found safeguarding to be a strength of the school. This is an excellent opportunity for a safeguarding professional, who may already be working at DSL level, to join our very large, diverse and vibrant school.
