Job Description

The post holder will support the implementation of the learning and development and quality assurance functions across the Council/Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) relating to child protection and adult protection procedures and allegations against staff relating to current or historic abuse.

The post holder will act as a single point of contact for all allegations made against staff, in relation to safeguarding and harm and for practice concerns; linking in with the Speak Out /Whistleblowing policy soon to be approved.

The post holder will also act as a nominated “Council” rights officer to ensure individual children and/or adults, who come forward with allegations of harm are supported, independent to services. The officer will also be a central link to capture data on all children ‘missing’ from care, education services and home.

The post holder will take a lead role in developing strategy and policy formulation in relation to safer recruitment and employment and contribute to overall strategy and policy for the “Council”.

The post holder will ensure the service is effective, adapts to change and delivers good outcomes for children and young people. Responsibility for setting and managing targets and performance objectives for this area of work
