Beat’s services team is going through a period of significant growth and the demand for our helpline services is higher than ever before. This is an exciting opportunity that requires excellent leadership skills, with the post-holder playing an important role in leading the delivery of support on our helpline channels. Beat’s Deputy Helpline Manager will be proactive and well-organised, with the ability to adapt and support colleagues and line reports with the delivery of helpline services across all channels. The successful candidate will be forward-thinking and passionate about providing high-quality support to individuals with eating disorders. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience of working with vulnerable people, acting as a safeguarding lead for staff and volunteers.

This role will be busy and varied, and will involve ensuring that all staff have appropriate training and development plans in place. This role will involve successfully implementing Beat’s policies and procedures, while ensuring the highest level of care is delivered to our beneficiaries. Reporting to the Head of Helpline, the post-holder will contribute to the effective delivery of helpline services. This includes direct line management for Helpline Advisors and supporting volunteers that deliver our services. Our Helpline operates between the hours of 9am and 12pm Monday to Friday, and 4pm and 12pm at the weekend. The shift pattern for this role will be a mix of early and late shifts between the hours of 8.30 and 00.30 (8.30-17.30, 15.30-00.30) with one in 3 weekends worked. This will be a 3 week set shift pattern which is repeated.
