The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) plays a crucial role in supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead in the schools and at Trust level in ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
This position involves working collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies to safeguard children and protect them from harm.
You will work within the trust supporting the safeguarding teams across the school according to need. This role will suit someone who is open to working flexibly within the trust where the need is greatest.
Responsibilities:
Be compassionate about empowering children and young people to make more positive choices;
- Working in a multi-agency way to safeguard our children and young people;
- Have an excellent understanding of safeguarding and contextual safeguarding;
- Attend regular multi agency meetings;
- Have strong knowledge of the Keeping Children Safe in Education Guidance;
- Be confident in completing referrals and risk assessments to keep children and young people safe;
- Refer cases of suspected abuse to the local authority children’s social care as required;
- Refer cases to Prevent where there is a radicalisation concern as required;
- Act as a point of contact with safeguarding partners;
