Job Description

A new team is being created within the Exploitation and missing service to work intensively with these young people, their siblings, parents and wider network to help keep them safe and prevent them from coming into care.

  • The Education Support Worker will be responsible for improving outcomes for young people through effective delivery of targeted interventions
  • Advising and supporting schools and families to apply the strategies they might need to engage the young people in educational pathways to prevent suspension or expulsion. This may include undertaking intensive and assertive outreach work at home, in the community and in school settings to reach young people and provide them with a rewarding experience through which they will develop new skills and knowledge which will ultimately improve their attainment and attendance
  • To ensure that each young person has access to an educational experience that supports their needs and aspirations to facilitate their access to a mainstream school, college, PRU or specialist setting
  • To work as part of a multi-agency team to develop and implement effective goal-focused education support services to young people who are at contextual risk
  • To take a lead role within the prevention service on developing effective relationships with key partners, in particular schools, and education services
