Children’s Services Manager

Salary: £46,000 per annum

About the role:

We are looking for a creative, dynamic, enthusiastic Children’s Services Manager who can oversee our cluster of support services based in Eglin and Buckie.

The service cluster comprises of 2 Residential Children’s homes, a large family support service, a tier 2 mental health and wellbeing service and support for young people in relation to employability.

You will have responsibility for overseeing this diverse mix of services, supporting a child centred and outcome focused approach to service delivery. You will manage processes around staff relations, contract management, budgets and finance and ensure we keep the promise to all children and young people who access our services.

You will make a difference by:

  • Promoting the highest standards of safeguarding practice through leading and managing processes and actions around safeguarding, fearlessly speaking out for children, families and young people.
  • Providing effective leadership and strategic development of our services across Moray, extending our impact.
  • Developing and maintaining effective networks, relationships, partnerships and contacts to improve outcomes for children, young people and families.
  • Recruiting, leading, motivating and managing a range of social care and support staff to deliver high quality health and social care services.

You will need:

  • A relevant qualification, plus a leadership / management qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Evidence of ongoing training and development.
  • Experience of the successful management and delivery of commissioned services, including significant working with health and social care commissioners and other multi-agency partners.
  • Significant experience of managing and developing operational services for children, young people and their families.
  • Significant experience of leading, motivating and managing teams of social care and support staff to deliver high quality health and social care services.
  • Significant experience of ensuring effective safeguarding practice and processes are embedded as a core aspect of the service.
