PURPOSE OF POST

To support the Headteacher and other Child Protection Officers providing information, advice and guidance for our pupils.

To organise support for vulnerable pupils and their families, either at home or at school, to enable full participation in school activities for pupils and relevant advice and support for families.

Importance is attached by the school to the customer relations aspect of all work undertaken. This being represented by parents, pupils, colleagues, peers, service providers and all visitors to the school. It is expected that this member of staff will at all times promote the school ethos and be an ambassador for the primary school.

HOURS OF WORK: Part time. Hours to be agreed with the headteacher.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Experienced in dealing with confidential work
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, good telephone manner, calm approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and high standard of written and
  • spoken English
  • High level of competency in ICT (Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to prioritise work, cope with completing deadlines and use initiative in a variety of
  • situations
  • Flexible, adaptable (to work and time) and a good work ethos
  • Confidentiality, tact and discretion combined with a calm personality and
  • sound judgement
  • The ability to act on initiative after appropriate training
  • Have a highly professional approach to the role
  • An interest in education and school

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Child Safeguarding and Home School Support Officer. All duties will be carried out to the highest standard. The role is to undertake a broad range of safeguarding and social inclusion related duties within the school in liaison with the Head Teacher and Inclusion Team.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Carry out any other duties as directed by the Head Teacher/Headship Team commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the post.
