Assistant Principal Lawyer – Children Safeguarding

We are looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Principal Lawyer to assist the Principal Lawyer in managing the children safeguarding team of Lawyers, Legal Officers and Paralegals.

We are looking for a flexible, motivated, and ambitious lawyer Child Care Lawyer with extensive experience in Child Protection, Deprivation of Liberty, Secure Accommodation, Forced Marriage Protection Orders, Wardship, Inherent Jurisdiction and managing Complex Child Care cases preferably in a local government setting. You will have experience of leading a legal team and the ability to provide specialist legal advice and support within your area of specialism. The successful candidate will be accustomed to working at pace in a busy team working on varied and complex issues. You will be a team player who can demonstrate self-motivation and flexibility. The ability to work to tight timescales/deadlines is essential for this role. You will have experience of managing, supervising or mentoring lawyers and legal assistants.

Prior local authority experience is desirable but not essential.

Face to face interviews will be held on Monday 17th July 2023 and Wednesday 19th July 2023.
