Charterhouse is a successful and ambitious school in an inspiringly beautiful setting. Founded in 1611, it moved to its present magnificent 250 acre site near Godalming in 1872. The School has over 800 pupils aged between 13 and 18, all of whom, except for about 40 day pupils, are boarders.

Assistant Head (Safeguarding)

This is a wonderful opportunity for an exceptionally talented teacher who is looking to take the next step in developing their leadership career.

Charterhouse is seeking to appoint an Assistant Head (Safeguarding) to undertake the Designated Safeguarding Lead responsibilities for safeguarding and child protection throughout the School.

The successful candidate will be a classroom teacher on a significantly reduced timetable, however, for the right candidate, this could be a non-teaching post.

The Assistant Head (Safeguarding) is a key member of the School’s Senior Leadership Team and will be expected to assist the Head in shaping a vision and direction for the School with very high expectations for pupil welfare and achievement.

The Assistant Head (Safeguarding) will be a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who will be able to demonstrate an understanding, awareness, and empathy for the needs of the pupils within the school and how these could be met.
