EMAS have worked extremely hard to embed Safeguarding from Board to frontline staff and has actively promoted frontline staff in the recognition of child and adult abuse. The making of safeguarding referrals is a priority and forms part of the patient journey. Safeguarding is considered an important component of improving patient safety and welfare management.

The current Safeguarding Adult Lead has been successful in obtaining a part time external secondment therefore an exciting opportunity has arisen within the Quality Directorate for an additional Lead for Safeguarding Adults.

This is a fixed term temporary position within the safeguarding team- 22.5 hours a week. The team work Monday to Friday and offer flexible working across the 5-day period.

The post holder will be responsible for the following areas;

  • Providing expert, evidence based clinical leadership on the Safeguarding Adult Agenda.
  • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of Adults at EMAS NHS Trust through collaborative   working with other agencies.
  • The development and implementation of systems, policy and processes for the protection of Adults.
  • Contributing to the assurance and governance processes interpreting National policy and statutory requirements to ensure compliance and best practice achieved.
  • Compiling Safeguarding Investigation reports

The successful applicant will need to have access to a car to support the regional role.
