Job Description

Purpose

To support the Academy Safeguarding function, ensuring effective plans are in place to cater for the needs of the Academy.

The Role

  • Support the effective delivery of a Safeguarding function.
  • Service the needs of the Academy, working with colleagues and external partners to meet the targets established.
  • Support the Safeguarding lead to ensure that the Academy Safeguarding service is efficiently delivered, working with internal and external stakeholders to achieve targets set.
  • Ensure there is strict Safeguarding compliance throughout the academy.
  • Support and maintain an effective Safeguarding Policy.
  • Support the delivery of Safeguarding Training.
  • Contribute to the Academy Operations Team delivery of a world class support function.

The Person

  • Technical and practical knowledge in safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk evidenced by a relevant professional qualification – as safeguarding leader you will need to have a significant level of professional knowledge to provide the best safeguarding outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, able to manage conflict and handle difficult and or sensitive issues.
  • Able to supervise, mentor and support staff remotely.
  • Must have demonstrable knowledge of safeguarding in a range of settings and across diverse communities.
  • Experience of implementing change within safeguarding settings, working collaboratively across wider teams and empowering colleagues to be effective within all aspects of safeguarding practice.
  • Experience of building and maintaining relationships with external agencies, referral pathways and organizations.
  • Experience of performance improvement in a complex organization using all forms of data.

Due to this post being in regulated activity, the potential employee will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check at the appropriate level.
