Safer Recruitment Certificate

Course outline:
This safer recruitment certificate programme covers areas required by statutory guidance including the elements that must be in place to ensure proper and safe recruitment of employees and volunteers working in positions of trust.
Training topics will include:
- Safeguarding and safer recruitment
- What we know about abusers and how they behave in organisations
- The safer recruitment process
- Planning a safer recruitment process
- Interview and selection: what to look out for
- Induction and the staff code of conduct
- Maintaining vigilance and avoiding the slippery slope.
Learning outcomes:
- Increase knowledge and understanding of safeguarding, safer organisations and the part played by safer recruitment practice
- Explore and consider the kinds of behaviours exhibited by those who have abused
- Develop more in-depth knowledge and understanding of the various steps in the safer recruitment process and the importance of its parts and beyond into induction and managing conduct
- Participants will receive a SACPA certificate on successful participation and completion.

He is an experienced LADO and is the elected Chair of the National LADO Network. Steve is an experienced trainer, providing tailored safeguarding training to a variety of settings.
