Post: Inclusion Officer & Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)

Post Details: 37 hours per week, term time only, permanent

Salary Scale: AAT Grade 5 SCP 10-15, Pro-rata salary £17,470.72 – £19,289 (Full time Equivalent Salary £21,695 – £23,953)

Oak Academy is seeking to recruit a full time Inclusion Officer & DDSL, to improve the life outcomes and opportunities for our students and their families.

The role of the Inclusion Officer & DDSL is to support the pastoral team with the management and response to safeguarding. Primarily this includes working with individuals and/or small groups to resolve difficulties causing concern as quickly as possible to promote learning and well-being.

We require a passionate and committed colleague who has a willingness to:

  • promote and safeguard the welfare of pupils in your care or that you come into contact with, in accordance with the Trust Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.
  • act as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure that the academy meets its statutory duty.
  • support and contribute to the work of the pastoral team in managing behaviour and safeguarding
    • foster and sustain collaborative links with relevant agencies, practitioners and the academy community
  • manage statutory returns to the Local Authority and Governing Body

The role will have a travel requirement and an enhanced DBS is necessary which will include clearance for visiting families in their homes.
