DESCRIPTION:🏷️ From £135\n🎧 All workers who have direct contact with children and their families\n📍 Online \n\nCourse outline: \nUpdated for Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2026 \nA Level 2 Certificate of Attendance is available upon completion. \nThis essential safeguarding refresher is designed for all staff working with children and young people who are not Designated Safeguarding Leads. It incorporates the latest updates from statutory guidance\, inspection standards\, and key learning from recent safeguarding reviews and case studies. \nThe training provides practical\, up-to-date information to ensure staff feel confident in recognising concerns\, responding appropriately\, and fulfilling their responsibilities within a safeguarding framework. \nThis programme can also be delivered on a consultancy basis\, either in-person or online. \nTraining topics will include: \n\nOverview of the legal and statutory safeguarding framework\nRecognising the signs and symptoms of abuse\nUnderstanding specific forms of abuse\, including:\n\nChild Sexual Exploitation (CSE) and Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE)\nGrooming (including online grooming)\nChild-on-Child Abuse\nCounty Lines\nThe Prevent Duty and recognising signs of radicalisation\n\n\nResponding to concerns: identifying\, recording\, and reporting abuse\nPersonal vulnerability and professional boundaries\n\nLearning outcomes: \nBy the end of the session\, participants will be able to: \n\nDemonstrate increased knowledge of how to safeguard and promote the welfare of children\nRecognise a wide range of signs and symptoms associated with different types of abuse\nUnderstand and describe specific safeguarding risks and how they may present in different contexts\nKnow how to respond to a concern\, including how to record and report disclosures or suspicions appropriately\nReflect on their own role\, responsibilities\, and vulnerabilities in the safeguarding process\n\nBOOK NOW \n*If you would like to become a member and access discounted rates for Sacpa CPD and events\, please click here. \n\nSpeaker: \nChristina Fairhead\, State registered nurse \nChristina started nurse training in 1978 and since qualifying as a state registered nurse (SRN) has enjoyed a very varied career. \nBetween 2005 and 2020 Christina held senior NHS roles including the management of safeguarding children services within a Community Health Trust and Health Commissioning Services. \nFrom 2010 to 2020 Christina worked as a Designated Nurse Safeguarding Children first\,  across the city of Leeds then across Local Authority Area of  Kirklees. \nShe has a Master’s Degree in Child Welfare and was awarded the title ‘Queen’s Nurse’ (2019) for “Continued commitment to improving standards of care in the community and to learning and leadership.”
