SUMMARY:Preparing for your Safeguarding Policy Update
DESCRIPTION:Course outline: \nThis is an interactive seminar that will involve group work and discussion. This seminar considers some key principles and practices around updating safeguarding and code of conduct policies\, and how to use a range of data to inform the update process and articulate the rationale for specific update with regard to governance\, regulatory inspection and work with colleagues using policy and procedure in their practice. \nDelegates will have the opportunity to consider and share a range of approaches to this task and positively impact the ongoing development of safer organisations practice. \nTraining topics will include: \n\nApproaches to the update process\nRegulatory requirements\, and using data to inform your safeguarding policy update\nThe role and voice of the child and service user\nLinks between significant policies\nGovernance and dissemination plans.\n\nLearning outcomes: \nDelegates will: \n\nConsider different approaches to the update process\nBe clear about their rationale for the data they draw on to conduct updates\nConsider links to a range of other significant policies\nConsider their plans for governance involvement and dissemination needs of staff.\n\nAudience: This interactive seminar is for safeguarding leads\, governors\, trustees\, proprietors and board members responsible for review and refresh of safeguarding policy and code of conduct. \nVenue: Zoom (online) – Seminar \nCost: \n\nMember Rate: £100\nNon-member Rate: £200*\n\nBOOK NOW \n*If you would like to become a member and access discounted rates for Sacpa CPD and events\, please click here. \n\nSpeaker: \nClaire Dan\, Director of Safeguarding and Director\, Sacpa \n \nClaire is Director of Safeguarding at BSA Group and Director of Sacpa. Claire leads on the development of Sacpa\, the provision of safeguarding advice and support to members and the development and delivery of CPD and safeguarding consultancy services across BSA Group. Claire is a safeguarding specialist with a background in education welfare\, youth justice\, and early help contexts which have involved a strong focus on diverse and collaborative multi-disciplinary teams and projects.   Between 2006 and 2013 Claire was involved with Luton Safeguarding Children Board as a lead multi-agency safeguarding trainer\, developing\, and delivering single and multi-agency safeguarding training. Thereafter\, Claire provided a range of safeguarding consultancy\, pieces of safeguarding training\, professional conduct\, and review work on a freelance basis.  \n
