For many boarding schools, dealing with educational guardians is a requirement of welcoming international students to their communities. There is a broad range of educational guardians and schools, agents and parents should look to work with guardians who take their role seriously, working to have the highest standards in safeguarding, safer recruitment and training.
This webinar is a must for all educational guardians who want to ensure their knowledge and understanding of safeguarding is up to date. If you are unable to watch the webinar live, recordings will be available following the event.

Webinar host: Dale Wilkins
Dale is a child protection specialist, with over 30 years’ experience working in the education sector. He is currently the Director of Safeguarding, Standards and Training for the Boarding Schools’ Association, is accredited by the NSPCC, having completed their ‘Training for trainers in child protection’ and his work includes liaising with government bodies on behalf of the sector as well as delivering child protection CPD to schools. Dale has also been a multi-agency safeguarding trainer for Dudley Safeguarding Children Board.
Webinar host: Ammy Davies-Potter
Ammy joins the BSA Group in summer 2020 leading their guardianship and accreditation services and championing the work of the sector on inclusion and diversity. Ammy qualified as a teacher in 1991 and has spent her whole career in boarding school roles. She taught initially at Bromsgrove School and then at St John’s College School Cambridge, before moving in 1995 to become a Housemistress at Westonbirt School. In 2010 she joined St Mary’s Calne, initially as a Housemistress and subsequently joining the SLT as Senior Mistress and DSL and currently as Deputy Head (Pastoral). Through her school roles, Ammy has a long history of working with guardians, and has also acted as a guardian herself.
