9th February, 2022 4:28 pm

The Safeguarding and Child Protection Association (Sacpa) has announced the winners of its first-ever Sacpa Annual Safeguarding Awards. The winners were unveiled at Sacpa’s Digital Safeguarding Conference, which took place virtually on Wednesday 9 February 2022.

Held for the first time this year, Sacpa launched the competition to celebrate the achievements, hard work, and dedication of individuals and organisations across the world of safeguarding. For the inaugural event, organisations were invited to submit entries across five award categories: COVID-19 Safeguarding Award; International Safeguarding Award; Safeguarding Initiative Award; Outstanding Commitment to Safeguarding Award, and Safeguarding Inclusion Award. For their submissions, entrants were asked to write in no more than 500 words why they, their organisation or the individual they were nominating, should win the award, providing examples and evidence to support their nomination, which were then assessed by Sacpa’s judging panel.

By organising these awards, we wanted to showcase some of the best examples of outstanding safeguarding practice to help all organisations to continue to drive up standards.

“On behalf of the Sacpa team, I’d like to say well done to all of the winners and finalists, and many thanks to everyone who took the time to send us their submissions. We’re delighted with the response to these awards in their debut year, and we’re very much looking forward to holding them again in 2023.”
